Material transferred by Illinois Historic Preservation Agency from the Carl Sandburg Home, Galesburg to the Illinois State Historical Library (now the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library), Springfield, in 1988. The Carl Sandburg Home Collection includes a scrapbook of newspaper clippings by or about Carl Sandburg; folders of pamphlets, periodicals and articles about Abraham Lincoln, the Civil War or Carl Sandburg; 3 small prints of Abraham Lincoln; and a folder of printed items and collectibles with a Lincoln theme.

Abraham Lincoln (born February 12, 1809, Sinking Spring Farm near Hodgenville, Kentucky-died April 15, 1865, Washington, D.C.) was the sixteenth President of the United States from 1861 until his death by assassination.
